5 Years Later......

I miss you, Daddy. I miss you as much now as I did five years ago. I talk to you all the time, and I know you are watching over us. Your grandchildren are growing up so fast. Tomorrow Miss Macie will be 6, that is so hard to believe! I wish you could have met Daleyn she is so precious and she too would have been wrapped around your finger. I know you live inside of me b/c I see more of you in me as I get older.
I miss our talks and I miss your laugh, but most of all I miss your hugs/kisses! Keep watching over us as we keep the memories of you alive!

I often think to myself, "Are you aware of things down here?"  "Do you know that you have a second grand-daughter?"  "Do you know that I have finally quit smoking?"  "Do you know that I am now in a relationship with the most wonderful person?"  "Do you know how hard things have been since your passing?"  So many things I think about but one thing that never leaves me is how much I miss you and the many memories that I was fortunate to make you and our family.

Although Daleyn never met you, she says she has seen you and even talked to you (I believe you are her guardian angel).  After your passing Macie always commented that she talked to "Papa" and would point to where she saw you(I believe you are her guardian angel too).  This gives me some comfort to know that they feel and/or see you even though we can't.  Keep watching over those babies Daddy - they love you even though they don't "remember you".  We want to keep your legacy alive and we do so by telling these babies what a good man their "Papa" was.

This is the only picture I have of you with Ed and Grandpa.....it's one of my favorite pictures of you because I see the happiness on your face.  I miss my NC family the older I get b/c losing you made me realize that life is too short.  I wish I was able to see them more than I do.

We miss you everyday but we are thankful for the time we had with you.  You will NEVER be forgotten!

BDay Dinner with friends

Last night was a wonderful night of dinner and conversation with a few friends to celebrate my 35th BDay before leaving for vacation.  During the evening my 4 year old niece, Princess D wanted to take pictures with my iPhone.  I was not certain she would know how to operate it, so I showed her the button to push to take pics and she took probably 25 pics of our entire group instructing who she wanted to set together for the shot. She impressed everyone at the dinner table, albeit they were a little blurry due to her shaking while clicking the shutter button... here are a few of the pics that she took

Then my favorite from the evening, taught her how to take a selfie...... yes I know she is only 4, but she took such a great interest in my phone I wanted to see what she would do.  Here is her selfie....

I love her smile while looking for the button to push at the same time....Priceless!

Getting ready to leave for a much needed vacation with the love of my life!! We will be going on our 1st cruise together.  Can't wait for this adventure and I am sure there will be more cruises to come!!

Bon Voyage!!!

It's Been A Longtime....

It has been so long since I blogged that I honestly can't even remember how long it has been.  But I do know that there have been a lot of changes since my last post.  After my father's death in Dec. 2008 I made a big change in my life(I will share in future posts).  First, I want to start by saying there is not a day that goes by that I don't think about my father.  I have learned that I am more like him than I even knew I was.

Since my dad's passing my Sister had another child, a baby girl that she named after our father.  Her name is Daleyn Sky Evitt.  She is a fire ball and has a beautiful personalty.  Macie has started Kindergarten this year, and she loves it!

Misty and I are getting ready for our first cruise.  We are going to Bahamas with her sister and their mom for 4 nights!  We are all so excited and can't wait to embark on this new adventure. Also, Fall is coming the temps have lowered the past few days here in Northeastern Georgia!!

I have also decided that after we return from our cruise I am making a change in my eating habits for weight loss.  I have already eliminated soft drinks from my diet and I only drink water, except for the occasions when I will have a few drinks with rum and diet coke..  I have been doing some research and making some selections that I feel will help me in my weight loss journey.  That will help inspire me to make a few posts also in the future.

Until Next Time-
Keeley
